This award is a commission for Children's Home Society of Florida. Two figures, one adult and one child appear in a "C" shape. The form represents the word Child or Children. It is out of that word that the two shapes emerge. The adult figure stretches his/her arms out to hold on to the child figure that is reaching towards the future. The arms of the adult melt into the leg and arm of the child creating an unbroken bond. The adult figure is supporting the child figure and lifting the child above itself. This is a demonstration of placing the child's well being above the adult's. The sculpture is full of movement and an expression of joy in the experience of an adult caring for a child and the child experiencing joy in turn. The energy is exhilarating and powerful as is the experience of the two figures as one.
